Our Story

Aristotle, ancient Greek philosopher and scientist coined the word “ethos” to refer to a person or organization’s character and integrity.

The word Ethos is synonymous with authenticity and trust. 

The word ETHOS stands for integrity and authenticity. In the fitness context, we are committed to helping people reach their full health and wellness potential with the help of our professionally training and certified fitness instructors. We will not promise results that we cannot deliver so you won’t hear any comments of fast spring break bikini body mentions or swift body composition changes. We design all of our classes and training sessions locally under professional guidelines and focus on a happier and healthier you!

Our Philosophy

We believe that exercise is transformational. The connection between a healthy body and a healthy mind has been studied for centuries, but the transformational power of exercise goes beyond inches, pounds and clothing sizes.

The magical mix of bringing people together in a community, using music as a motivator under the careful guidance of a nationally certified professional, allows people to create experiences that allow them to release their everyday stress and worries, or mine their inner athlete and be inspired to enter a competitive sport. 

We believe in making exercise a habit and inspiring people to live healthy lifestyles on and off the bike.

The Ethos Difference

All Ethos instructors are nationally certified and bring their real-world experiences of road cycling and triathlons, personal training, group fitness instruction, or even health and wellness coaching to each class they instruct.

Specifically, Ethos Fitness classes follow the ABCs of a fitness experience:

Authentic to the sport we are referencing whether that is running, cycling, or rowing. The Bloomington community would not have it any other way. For example, you will not see us do anything on the bike that a cyclist would not do on the road.

Broad-Based and accessible to all levels of exercisers.  Our instructors demonstrate progressions and options for any beginner to follow and advanced exerciser to be challenged by.

Coached by instructors who design their classes on cueing and motivation that meets each members where they are at to help them get more out of each workout.
